Stand Up Comedy Show With Q, Simba the Comic King and Andrew Manyika




What happens when you put two crazy comedians on stage with an off-the-wall MC? WTF? The hilarious comedy show will feature some of the leading lights of the comedy scene as well as a new-kid-on-the-block.
Q is a popular comedian on the Zimbabwean comedy scene and he has stepped onto every big comedy stage in Zimbabwe namely, Shoko Festival (2012), HIFA – 51% Comedy show (2013) and very recently was on the line up in Zimbabwe’s first international comedy festival, the Rainbow Towers Comedy Fest. Andrew Manyika is a Writer, Performance Poet, Comedian and MC from Johannesburg. He has taken to the stage, performing stand-up comedy at such renowned Johannesburg venues as Wish, the Comedy Underground, Kitchener's, The Box and in Harare at the popular Bang Bang Comedy Club. WTF will be hosted by the NAMA award winning comedian and founder of Simuka Comedy Club, Simba The Comic King.

Tcheka

Singer, songwriter and guitarist, who is well known for his work in transposing the traditional Afro-creole folk rhythm Batuku to the electro-acoustic guitar, Manuel Lopes Andrade, aka Tcheka, has been a key figure at the cutting edge of Cape-Verdean music for a decade. 
After acquiring a reputation in Praia and the archipelago of Cape Verde as a whole at the start of the 2000s, he signed to the Lusafrica label in 2002. Four albums and multiple international tours later, Tcheka has consolidated his reputation as one of the greatest male artists in Cape-Verdean music, following in the footsteps of Teofilo Chantre and Bau, bards of a Portuguese-speaking Africa that expresses itself in song.  Vibrant with energy and radiant talent, Tcheka’s HIFA show presents this extraordinary artist in an intimate trio format. Formed by two drumming virtuosos, Blessing Chimanga from Zimbabwe and Massimo Covini from Italy, Zimboita embodies cross-cultural experimentation and the fusion of musical styles from two very different corners of the world. The band has grown into a close-knit group of four, two Italians and two Zimbabweans. Combining local and Western instruments (marimba, mbira, percussion, bass guitar and keyboard, Zimboita has a genuinely original sound that appeals to lovers of traditional local music and fans of European sounds alike.

Lil Romeo's famous, talented and wealthy father turns a year older today. Percy Robert Miller popularly known as Master P, is one of Hip hop's greatest contributors in terms of music and making hip hop not just a culture but a business. About Jason Le Roux is the radio personality/ club DJ who is pushing the electro dance music culture in Zimbabwe. The annual South African Music Awards are one of not only South Africa, but Africa's most prestigious music awards which have drawn millions of viewers and music fans of South African music. Sponsored by Amstel Lager and held at Sun City Superbowl, the glitzy awards not only celebrated its 20th anniversary, but 20 years of South African freedom.
Duo group Mafikizolo snagged 7 awards for themselves (we must say this has been a very fruitful reunion).Mafikizolo also won Album of the Year (Reunited), Duo or Group of the Year, Best Pop Album and Best Collaboration for Happiness with May D.
DJ Kent's Spin My World Around, which features The Arrows won the "Highest Airplay of the Year" award. Zahara's win for Female Artist of the Year was bitter-sweet, as she recently lost her brother (who was murdered in the UK).On the upside, the Lifetime Achievement award went to Blacksmith Black Mambazo.

SAMA 2014 Red Carpet The South African Music Awards celebrated their 20th anniversary and as always the stars went all out for this year's red carpet (formerly the MTN yellow carpet). Some showed off some skin like Boity Thulo and Bonang Matheba, whilst the couples made the best of what would seemingly be a great date night and the likes of rapper Zulu Boy and house producer Heavy K, kept it simple.

Shoko Festival is Zimbabwe’s fastest growing international festival. Shoko is a festival based on merging urban culture, free expression and positive social change. Shoko is about breaking down the barriers between media, culture and activism to create dialogue, progress and cutting edge new urban culture. Shoko which was incepted in 2011, fuses different art forms from  a concert series, a comedy night, DJ parties, an international poetry slam, new media and arts workshops, debates, live graffiti , The Hub Unconference, an art exhibition, and the creativity of Shoko.
Last year saw the likes of Tony Rebel (Jamaica), Mzungu Kichaa (Tanzania) ,Symbiz (Germany) and Khuli Chana (SA) among others, grace Zimbabwe. This year, Shoko goes bigger and they have introduced a panel of ambassadors from the entertainment arena including Jason Le Roux, Ammara Brown, Hope Masike, Tehn Diamond, BaShupi, Ray Dizz, Clive Chigubu, Djembe Monks, Sir Nige and Dadza D.

The Harare International Festival of the Arts has been running since 1999 and is fast growing in being the go-to event bringing people from all walks of life,across the globe in Zimbabwe's capital for cultural exchange,engagement and entertainment.

SAMA 2014 The South African Music Awards are an annual awards show which serve to celebrate and award South African musicians and the music itself. With over 20 categories, the awards bring together the people of the "Rainbow nation" under one roof, on one channel (SABC 1) to dance and honour the achievements of South Africans. This year the SAMAs will take place on the 28th of April at the Sun City Superbowl and Bonang Matheba will yet again host the prestigious award.
