As we close off yet another month, the weekend is packed with a lot of action. The "Godfathers" series comes to an end with DJ Dimplez of the "Rands&Nairas" fame, whilst father and son share a stage at Book Cafe. Comedy is in Bulawayo with the comedians bringing in their A-Game in rib-cracking. Celebrate Young host a launch concert for their new album "Reign" at Celebration Centre during the Action Conference.  For all those who love speed will enjoy the Telecel Drag Race.

Remembering Maya Angelou To those who have gone through Maya Angelou's works, they would know that Maya was one of the most relatable writers of this age. Whether you read her pieces or watched or heard her recite, her words were like water that seeps into dry ground to quench the earth. Her words were from either the grandmother, mother or sister that you needed. Her most prolific works gave people of colour a sense of conciousness that stirred up pride and opened eyes to the injustices in society, and also bring a message of hope. Maya Angelou, the celebrated poet, writer and activist who rose from a childhood of poverty in Arkansas to become an American literary icon, died Wednesday morning at her home in Winston-Salem, N.C., at the age of 86.
Her son, Guy B Johnson, confirmed the news in a statement. He said: "Her family is extremely grateful that her ascension was not belaboured by a loss of acuity or comprehension.
"She lived a life as a teacher, activist, artist and human being. She was a warrior for equality, tolerance and peace. The family is appreciative of the time we had with her and we know that she is looking down upon us with love."
Johnson said Angelou "passed quietly in her home" sometime before 8 am on Wednesday.

You see, Zimbabwean "urban" music, actually the music industry as a whole, has been undergoing certain changes and is slowly evolving as our generation seeks to create "best selling", "multi-award winning", filthy rich (enough to make it into the ranking on the Forbes "Richest People" list), superstar entertainers who are home-grown. Christopher George Latore Wallace (May 21, 1972 – March 9, 1997), better known by his stage names The Notorious B.I.G., Biggie or Biggie Smalls, was an American rapper.
Wallace was raised in the Brooklyn borough of New York City. When he released his debut album Ready to Die in 1994, he became a central figure in the East Coast hip hop scene and increased New York's visibility in the genre at a time when West Coast hip hop was dominant in the mainstream. The following year, Wallace led his childhood friends to chart success through his protégé group, Junior M.A.F.I.A. While recording his second album, Wallace was heavily involved in the growing East Coast/West Coast hip hop feud.
On March 9, 1997, Wallace was killed by an unknown assailant in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles. His double-disc set Life After Death, released 16 days later, rose to No. 1 on the U.S. album charts and was certified Diamond in 2000, one of the few hip hop albums to receive this certificati…
