Groove Awards: 2014 The Year Of The Booty

How the Booty Changed the World in 2014

According to the Chinese calendar 2014 was the year of the horse, fair and fine but what they did not know is that the calendar was to change slightly because it seems that the gluteus maximus a.k.a bottom, behind, backside, "bass" ;in a word, booty was going to change history!

Last year, musicians and celebrities put their derrieres on display and pervaded pop culture to an extent not seen in a decade. We have not seen so much ass in one year in the longest time. Yes, 2014 has been dubbed the Year of the Booty.

Kim Kardashian Breaks the Internet

Yes she's called attention seeking so obviously Kim Kardashian wasn't going to be left out of the booty parade of 2014. Her Paper magazine cover was designed to #BreakTheInternet. Mission accomplished

Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda” Booty Parade

"My anaconda don't want none unless you've some buns hun...", well we doubt that Nicki Minaj has that problem. Nicki said that this video and song were more of a joke and it wasn't to be taken seriously however she had everybody in a frenzy not to mention that fellow Young Money label mate, Drake got the pleasure of watching those buns up-close and personal (We must say he looked very ecstatic!) Oh my God, look at her BUTT!

Amber Rose's Victory Twerk

Up to now we still don't understand why Wiz Khalifa would dare cheat on that...or even fail to beg to stay with that...Oh well, her marriage might have failed but Amber Rose's assets are still true winners. Check out her victory twerk to her former man's song inspired non other by her "goodies"...

Meghan Trainor “All About That Bass”

It’s a cutesy, often grating, but irresistible song about loving your body, curves and all. It’s basically “Anaconda” without the rapping and the cursing and talk about tossing one’s salad. It’s also implausibly popular, given that body positive anthems don’t typically storm radio and sit on top of the Billboard charts for eight straight weeks. “All About That Bass” might be the least aggressive celebration of the ass on this list, but its sheer popularity makes it all the more important.

J. Lo’s Still Got a Great “Booty”

When you combine the fairy godmother of celebrity butts (Jennifer Lopez) and the rump-shaking rookie of the year (Iggy Azalea), you can only get a masterpiece. That “Booty” remix video was something special. Just ask Diddy...it's a work of art!

Beyonce Flawless 7/11

Queen Bey has been known to be a "classy" lady however not wanting to be outdone Beyonce put out this home video type in a ratchet anthem. Left cheek, right cheek...cause her body's too bootylicious...Oh not forgetting...

Jay Z turned up the heat at the 2014 Grammy Awards when he grabbed Bey’s backside while performing “Drunk in Love.” Yes, it's his...all his! #Surfboard

Riri's Sheer Joy

2014 will be remembered as the year that bad girl Riri was suspended from instagram for being too sexy...and returned back! Yep, Rihanna never shys away from showing off her super hot Caribbean body and she showed the world what a great derriere she has...

Boity Thulo's Bootyful Rear

Oh the continent of Africa could not be out done because the Motherland is the home of booty. Representing and breaking the internet was South African presenter and model, Boity Thulo, (or should we say "Booty Too Low") who stripped for a cause and caused quit a "stir'' on social media, particularly on Twitter with #BoityAss. She was  one of 36 South African celebrities who stripped down and posed naked for Marie Claire’s 2014 Naked issue. The Marie Claire 2014 Naked issue aims to raise awareness and support for hungry children in the country. Well we didn't complain...

Who dat...I.G.G.Y?

year of Booty GIFs

She exploded onto the scene in 2014 with her catchy songs and rap talents, but the world couldn't help but notice she's got a superior posterior. And in terms of race issues, white women also have curvy behinds and Iggy proved it again and again...

Sports Illustrated showed off a new side

Sports Illustrated showed off a new side.

For a difference, Sports Illustrated celebrated their 50th unnecessary by honoring models booties and we must say not as skinny as most assume...Past.Present.Future.tChrissy Teigen, Nina Agdal and Lily Aldridge put their best behinds forward for the iconic Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover and proved that the booty is here to stay!

Jason Derulo's Wiggle Wiggle

"Girl where did you get that big fat butt?" Who knew whistling could make us wiggle wiggle wiggle? Thanks Jason Derulo! And featuring the Doggfather who added his 'wisdom' at the end, "Baby, you've got a fine future behind you!"

Members of the jury, we have given you enough eveidence to certify 2014 as truly the year of the BOOTY!

Watch: Few Kings '15 Billion' Music Video.

Where is the '15 Billion'?

It's King Ngoda'so birthday and for his fans he has a present.

As a follow up to 'The Remedy', Few Kings release a new music video for '15 Billion'. The track is off the trio's The Feeling Ain't Fair 2.

Following the social commentary path, 15 Billion protests against unfair treatment of workers. Taking a subliminal route Tehn, Breezy and Fizzo use the music industry as the metaphor, as well as the reality on the ground.

According to the description,  "15 Billion" brings us #TheFew reading the riot act to shady promoters. Demanding it's time we all got paid in full for what we're worth. We want our 15 Billion, the whole thing or nothing at all. This is Zim Hip-Hop at it's finest."

Tehn is having a photo shoot, Jnr Brown is …
