2016 Oscar Awards Winners List

Leonardo DiCaprio Finally Wins An Oscar!


The 88th Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences honored the best films of 2015 and took place on February 28, 2016, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles.

Host Chris Rock kicked off the 2016 Oscars with a highly anticipated monologue amid the #OscarsSoWhite controversy, taking multiple jabs at Hollywood's culture.


'Mad Max: Fury Road' won six awards, the most for the evening, while 'The Revenant' won three out of 12 total nominations. Other winners include Spotlight, which won two, including Best Picture, Leonardo DiCaprio, was not disappointed in his fifth chance to take home an Oscar for acting and his director, Alejandro G. Iñárritu, had just gotten his second directing win in a row for "The Revenant."

2016 Metro FM Awards Winners

Emtee And Fifi Cooper Big Winners At The 15th Metro FM Awards

The 15th annual Metro FM Music Awards ceremony on Saturday (27 Feb.) night in Durban where the biggest stars in SA music and entertainment gathered at the prestigious awards. The awards were hosted by Metro FM radio personalities Bonang Matheba who had six outfit changes throughout the night, alongside DJ Mo Flava.

It was a big night for newcomers, rappers Mthembeni ‘Emtee’ Ndevu and Refilwe ‘Fifi Copper’ Mooketsi each bagged more than two awards. Emtee took home the awards for 'Best Remix' for his single Roll Up, in which he features AKA and Wizkid. He also won 'Best Hip Hop Album' for Avery, 'Best Music Video' for Roll Up and the 'Listener’s Choice', with a cash prize of R400,000.

Fifi Cooper won awards for 'Best Newcomer', 'Best Produced Album' and 'Best Female Album' for her '20Fifi' album with R300,000 cash prize for each award she won.

ZIMA Awards 2016 Winners

The 2016 Zimbabwe Music Awards were held on Thursday 25 Feb. at the Harare International Conference Center. The red carpet was rolled out with fashionistas Mbo Mahocs and Gilmore Tee hosting the red carpet interviews.

The MCs for the night were Candice Mwakalyelye and Tich Mataz who were looking good as they brought on their fashion A-game. Jah Prayzah was the evening's biggest winner as he took home four awards.
